Music Factoids

It is a popular misconception that "Country Honk" on the Rolling Stones "Let It Bleed" album was a re-worked country version of "Honky Tonk Women." In actual fact, it was the other way round. The song was written as a country song when the Stones visited a ranch during a trip to Brazil in 1968. It was Mick Taylor who had the idea of re-working it into what would become a rock classic, which was released before the album version.
