Rick Wakeman tells Simon Mayo and Jo Whiley how he came to push Salvador Dali off the stage.
1980's band The Communards took their name from the members of the Paris Commune, a French revolutionary movement which siezed administrative control in Paris in 1871.
After 2 months in control, the Commune was suppressed by the national French Army in a week of conflict which saw thousands of communards either killed or executed.
The modern day Communards lasted longer than their French namesakes before they split up. After the band folded, Jimmy Somerville went on to have a successful solo career, while Richard Coles was ordained as a Church Of England Parish Priest and also features regularly on a variety of radio and TV programmes.
